Shannon Evarts
The last 25 years of my life have been dedicated to coaching gymnastics, raising my four children, and expanding my knowledge in education. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have taught students from preschool to fifth grade. These experiences have allowed me to work with diverse learners, helping them achieve their personal goals. My passion for teaching has inspired me to start this preschool, where I can combine my two favorite things: preschoolers and gymnastics.

Throughout my life I have always had a passion for caring for others and teaching children. I have spent the last 7 years gaining extensive experience in childcare and preschool along with gaining my CDA during this time. These experiences have allowed me to be able to work with all types of children in a variety of ages. Along with that I have gained very many skills to help foster the social emotional development of each child I teach. My favorite thing about teaching children is watching them be so curious and want to learn all there is to know. I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to teach the children at Cedar Peak Learners and inspire and teach them to become all that they can be.

If you know me, you know that I absolutely adore kids. This will be my third year teaching at Cedar Peak Learners. I love working with children, coaching them, and simply being around them. I see each child as an individual with unique capabilities. Watching them light up as they develop new skills and talents brings me immense joy. I am currently in my fifth year at SUU, studying Exercise Science with the hope of becoming an Athletic Trainer because helping others is my passion. I am excited to get to know your children and see what they will accomplish.

Marlyn Guerrero
I grew up in Cedar City and graduated from SUU in 2014. Since the age of 18, I have worked with the Iron County School District, starting as a volunteer, then as a substitute teacher, and eventually as a site coordinator for an after-school program. I have taught students from preschool to GED classes. Teaching is my passion, but when I'm not in the classroom, I love being outdoors or traveling. My favorite outdoor activities include exploring caves, kayaking, off-roading, and taking road trips to the Redwood Forest. The most rewarding feeling for me is seeing students accomplish what once seemed impossible and witnessing that moment of understanding. I am excited to teach your children and provide them with fun learning activities!

Melissa McVay
Coming from a big family, children are a central part of my life. As a mother of five young children and with eight years of preschool experience, I adore this age group. Being around young children brings me immense joy. The opportunity to be part of their day-to-day experiences is the highlight of my day. I am grateful for the chance to work with your children at Cedar Peak Learners and to watch them grow and develop.
